Mahwah, NJ (9/24/03) - It took 110 minutes of play, but it still wasn't enough to decided a winner as No. 8 Montclair State and No. 20 Ramapo College played to a scoreless tie in New Jersey Athletic Conference men's soccer action on Saturday afternoon.
The meeting was the first between the two since last season's ECAC Division III Metro Tournament Quarterfinal won by Montclair State, 1-0. The tie leaves MSU at 7-1-2, 1-0-2 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners stayed unbeaten at 8-0-2, including a 2-0-1 mark in the conference.
Ramapo held the advantage in shots, 19-11, but there was no getting past either goalkeeper. MSU's
EDGARD DINTEN (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) made seven saves in posting his second shutout, while Ramapo netminder Patrick Jagodzinski (Lebanon, NJ) made eight saves as he recorded his eight shutout of the season.
The Red Hawks return to action on Wednesday, October 1st as they host local and NJAC rival William Paterson at MSU Soccer Park. Game time is 3:00 pm. Last year, the Pioneers came away with a 2-0 victory in Wayne.
