Pomona, NJ (9/24/03) - Senior midfielder MEGAN ULICNY scored the game-winner 1:50 into overtime as No. 12 Montclair State topped conference newcomer Richard Stockton, 1-0, in New Jersey Athletic Conference action on Saturday.

The win upped the Red Hawks record to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the NJAC. In its first season of varsity field hockey, Richard Stockton lost its third straight and fell to 3-5 overall, 0-1 in the league.

Ulicny scored her first-game winning goal this season and fourth in her MSU career as she snapped the scoreless tie by beating Osprey goalkeeper Kerry Brennan, who played the second half and overtime periods, for her eighth goal of the season and fourth in the last two games.

TRISHA WINKLE made the lead hold up as she stopped all three of Stockton's scoring attempts. It was Winkle's second consecutive shutout and 15th of her career. MSU dominated in shots, 13-3 and held a 14-3 advantage in penalty corners.

The Red Hawks return to action on Wednesday, October 1st, as they host the Rangers of Drew University at Sprague Field at 7:30 pm. Last season, Montclair posted a 4-3 victory in Madison as Ulicny scored once, and SARAH LEVINE added two goals.
