Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Blanks Ramapo 6-0

Upper Montclair, NJ (9/28/03) - Junior forward STEPHANIE SABALIAUSKAS (Edison, NJ/Mt. St. Mary Academy) notched a hat trick and added an assist as Montclair State blanked Ramapo College, 6-0, at a wet and soggy Sprague Field on Sunday afternoon.

The game was rescheduled from Saturday, September 27th due to wet field conditions at MSU Soccer Park.

Sophomore KELLY DUTKO (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) added a goal and two assists for the Red Hawks (6-1-0, 3-0-0 NJAC), who have won four straight while outscoring their opponents 19-0 during that stretch. Sophomore goalkeeper Christy Turner (Ringwood, NJ/Lakeland Regional) had 10 saves for the Roadrunners (4-4-1, 0-3-0 NJAC), who have lost three straight.

Sabaliauskas scored Montclair's first three goals as she notched her third career hat trick. Her first came at the 15:21 mark as she took a cross from Dutko at the middle of the 10-yard line and flicked a shot that beat Turner to the left side. She recorded goal No. 8 on the season at 25:59 as her shot from 12-yards out tipped off the Turner's hands and trickled into the lower right corner. The Red Hawks led 2-0 at the half.

In the second half, Sabaliauskas got the hat trick as she headed in a free kick from GABBY WHITE (Garwood, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) for a 3-0 MSU 1:48 into the period. Sabaliauskas now has nine goals this season and 22 points.

Dutko collected her fourth goal of 2003 just under two minutes later as Turner stopped a Sabaliauskas shot, however the ball trickled out to Dutko, who then flipped the ball into the empty net. JESSICA KOCH (Blackwood, NJ/Triton) and STEPHANIE SANTOS (East Hanover, NJ/Hanover Park) capped off the MSU scoring in the 70th and 84th minute, respectively.

Junior SUSAN HINDS (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) needed to make one save as she posted her fourth shutout of the season. Montclair State outshot Ramapo, 27-6 and had a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks.
