Allegheny, PA (09/05/03) - The Montclair State University volleyball team dropped both of its matches in the first day of the 2003 Allegheny College Invitational held on Friday evening.
MSU (1-4), which has lost four straight following a season-opening win, lost to host Allegheny and Roberts Wesleyan each in three games. Allegheny defeated the Red Hawks, 30-22, 30-21 and 30-27 while Roberts Wesleyan posted a 30-25, 30-14, 30-20 victory.

TIFFANY ACIZ (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) collected six kills and 10 assists in the loss to Allgeheny. Senior
CARMEN ALVARADO (Newark, NJ/Barringer) contributed four kills and nine assists along with four service aces and five digs.
KELLY MCGUIRE (Upper Saddle River, NJ/Northern Highlands) added four kills, two aces and four digs.
In the loss to Roberts Wesleyan, Alvarado and Aciz each had six kills and eight assists with McGuire recording 11 digs. Freshman
ASIA LIVINGSTON (Paterson, NJ/Passaic County Tech) had three kills and six digs.
The Red Hawks continue action in the Allegheny College Invitational on Saturday with matches against Otterbein College and Washington & Jefferson. MSU will then return home for its first match of the season in Panzer Gymnasium on Tuesday, September 9th as it hosts Richard Stockton College in an NJAC match.
