Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

No. 3 Trinity (TX) Snaps Women's Soccer's Unbeaten Streak

San Antonio, TX (10/10/04) - Sophomore goalkeeper KRISTIN KUHMANN made nine saves to help keep second-ranked Trinity off the scoreboard, but it wasn't enough as Montclair State completed their Texas trip with a 1-0 loss on Sunday afternoon.

Trinity's Jessica Card scored a goal late to lead her team to the one-goal victory. It was Trinity's 25th straight home victory.

Trinity (10-0) out-shot the Red Hawks 28-2 but couldn't break through until the 79th minute. Card knocked in the game-winner with assists from both Carly Shade and Alexia Donohue.

Donohue dropped a pass to Shade over the Montclair defenders, and then Shade went straight to goal with a defender on her heels. Once in the box, Shade crossed a pass to Card, who scored despite pressure from another defender.

Tiger goalkeeper Stephanie Bull led the team to its ninth shutout in 10 games this season. Bull faced just two shots but made a save on the game's first shot as STEPHANIE SABALIAUSKAS let a shot go in the opening seconds.

Montclair State now returns home and resumes play in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Red Hawks will host Richard Stockton at MSU Soccer Park on Wednesday, October 13, at 4:00 pm. Last season, the Ospreys defeated Montclair in the ECAC Metro Championship Game for the second consecutive year. Richard Stockton won the 2003 title on penalty kicks, 4-2.
