JENNIFER TANIS scored a goal and an assist as sixth-ranked Montclair State got back on the winning track with a 2-1 victory over SUNY New Paltz on Wednesday evening.

ALEXANDRIA KELLY also had a goal for the Red Hawks, who got their five-game road trip off to a successful start and improved to 11-2 on the season. New Paltz fell to 5-8.Patricia Erikson gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead with 16:17 to play in the first half as she took a feed from Shannon Stokes for the first score of the game. New Paltz took the one-goal advantage into halftime.
In the second half, Montclair State responded as Kelly scored her fourth goal of the season with 21:30 to play as she knocked in a pass from Tanis. Just over three minutes later, Tanis put the Red Hawks in front for good with her team-leading eighth tally of the season.
ROBYN APICELLI made five saves for Montclair State while New Paltz goalkeeper Nicole Kovac finished with five as well.
The Red Hawks are now off for a week and return to action on Wednesday, October 20 as they travel to Madison, NJ to face the Rangers of Drew University at 4:00 pm. Last season, Montclair defeated Drew, 6-2 behind a hat trick from
