Hoboken, NJ (10/23/04) - The Montclair State University volleyball suffered a trio of losses on Saturday as the Red Hawks lost to Ripon College, Hunter and Baruch in a quad match at Stevens Tech.
MSU, which fell to 7-23 on the season, fell to Ripon, 3-1 (30-19, 30-19, 21-30, 30-25) and Baruch by the same score (30-17, 18-30, 30-20, 32-30). The Red Hawks closed out the day with a 3-2 loss to Baruch (24-30, 30-25, 30-28, 26-30). The Bearcats won the fifth and decisive game, 15-9.
In the loss to Ripon,
HEATHER ACIZ had 12 kills and six igs while sister
TIFFANY ACIZ added seven kills and a team-high 16 digs in the contest. Sophomore
ASIA LIVINGSTON had eight kills while
JANIELLE SANCHEZ registered 18 assists.
Again Hunter, Montclair had three players register double-digit kills led by
TIFFANY ACIZ, who had 22 to go along with 11 digs.
HEATHER ACIZ added 13 kills and Livingston contributed 11. Sanchez had nine digs with sophomore
ELYSE GRYWALSKI recording 45 assists.
The Aciz sisters combined for 32 kills versus Baruch with Tiffany getting 20 of those along with seven digs.
JANIRE LEBRON and Sanchez had 10 and 15 digs, respectively, while Livingston and
SADE MAJOR each had nine kills. Grywalski had 43 assists.

The Red Hawks close out their regular-season schedule on Tuesday, October 26 as they go on the road to face Richard Stockton at 7:00 pm. MSU will then head to the NJAC Tournament which begins on Tuesday, November 2. Montclair will be the sixth seed and will be on the road against an opponent yet to be determined.
