GIAN PAUL GONZALEZ collected a game-high 18 points and six assists as the Montclair State University men's basketball team defeated Centenary College, 92-54, to close out the first-ever Steve Adubato One-on-One Classic at Panzer Gymnasium.
MSU defeated Plymouth State (NH) University, 87-57, on Saturday afternoon, after PSU topped Centenary, 116-79, on Friday evening.
Montclair State (2-0 overall) raced out to a 10-0 lead and never trailed in taking a 51-24 halftime advantage. Junior guard
RASHAD BUTLER tallied 13 points and seven rebounds for the Red Hawks, while freshman guard
ANTHONY LARKIN recorded 12 points and shot 4-of-5 from three-point range.

Sophomore center Steve McNamara and freshman guard Josh Davidson paced the visiting Cyclones (0-2) with 10 points apiece, with McNamara and junior forward Omar Davis contributing eight rebounds each and Davis also recording two blocks.
The Red Hawks shot 51 percent (35-of-68) from the field and 10-of-22 from three points range while connecting on 12-of-19 from the free throw line. Montclair shot 60 percent (20-of-33) in the first half as its built its halftime lead.
MSU returns to action Tuesday night at The College of Staten Island, while Centenary visits Lehman (NY) tomorrow evening.
