Little Falls, NJ - Senior lefthander
JEFF GOGAL (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) tossed a five-hit shutout as Montclair State won its second straight with a 6-0 victory over Rensselaer in the Red Hawks' 2004 home opener at Yogi Berra Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Senior first baseman
MIKE WEISS (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) drove in a pair of runs for MSU, which improved to 6-4 overall.
Gogal (2-1), who moved into fifth place on the MSU career wins list with his 23rd victory, allowed just five singles, struck out 11 and walked one as he recorded his fourth career shutout. Luke Calzone (Bethel, CT/Bethel) suffered the loss for Rensselaer. Calzone tossed 5.2 innings allowing three runs on three hits, while also striking out five and walking three.
MSU had just five hits in the contest, two coming from sophomore
