Montclair, NJ (09/18/04) - The Montclair State University men's soccer team won its New Jersey Athletic Conference opener and its fourth straight game overall with tonight's 3-0 victory over The College of New Jersey at Sprague Field.
The victorious Red Hawks improve to 5-0-1 overall, while the 15th-ranked Lions fall to 5-2-0 (1-1 NJAC). MSU also topped TCNJ, 3-1, last year in Ewing.
The game was scoreless until Montclair State freshman defender

The contest then went back and forth until MSU freshman midfielder
KEN HUSSEY tallied his first two career goals less than two minutes apart, at 87:17 and 89:11, for the final margin. Both of Hussey's goals came from far out, and both were unassisted.
Junior goalkeeper
CHRIS OWEN finished with five saves for the host Red Hawks, including three stops in the second half, while senior netminder Shawn Mecchi made three stops for the Lions. TCNJ outshot MSU, 11-10, while MSU held the edge in corner kicks, 5-3.
