HEATHER ACIZ had nine kills and nine digs as Montclair State lost its third straight match, falling to Rutgers-Newark, 3-0 in NJAC action on Tuesday evening. The loss dropped MSU's record to 7-11 overall, 1-4 in the conference.
Sophomores Julie Pape and Alison Becker hammered down nine kills apiece to lead Rutgers-Newark in The Golden Dome.
Pape had no attack errors, hitting .562 on 16 swings, while Becker hit .238 to help the Scarlet Raiders to a .221 team hitting percentage. Pape also added a pair of solo blocks.Rutgers-Newark improved to 11-6 overall and 2-1 in the NJAC while the Red Hawks dipped to 7-11 and 1-4.
Junior setter Sheena Eldred tallied 26 assists and two aces while getting kills on six of seven dump shot attempts. Sophomore Sabrina Beecher served three of the Raiders' nine aces.

The Red Hawks will look to put an end to their three-game skid on Thursday as they host City College of New York at Panzer Gymnasium on Thursday, October 6. First serve is set for 7:00 pm.
