Montclair , NJ ( 10/6/05 ) – Junior HEATHER ACIZ had 23 kills and 14 digs to lead Montclair State to a 3-0 victory over City College of New York in NCAA Division III volleyball action at Panzer Gymnasium on Thursday evening. The Red Hawks, who snapped a three-match losing streak with the win, won by the scores of 30-26, 30-22 and 30-27.

Freshman JULIANA FERDINAND had 10 kills for MSU (8-11), which also got nine kills from freshman Samnatha Karpinski . Jacqueline Peralta had 10 kills and seven digs for the Beavers (5-7), who have lost six of their last seven games.

Aciz, who posted her second 20-kill match of the season, also served eight service aces and added two blocks while sophomore MELISSA CIACCIO registered 35 assists and 10 digs. ZAIRY RAMOS had 14 digs and libero JANIELLE SANCHEZ 13 for Montclair State .

Brenda Tejada had seven kills for CCNY while Floriana Garo added six kills, three service aces and 12 digs for the Beavers.

Montclair State returns to action on Saturday, October 8 as the Red Hawks travel to Wilkes-Barre , PA for a quad match at King's College . MSU will face Wilkes University and host King's.
