Montclair, NJ (03/24/05) – The Montclair State University women's lacrosse team raced out to a nine-goal first-half lead en route to an 11-1 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson University, College of Florham today at Sprague Field.
Montclair State won its second straight game and improved to 4-2 overall, while FDU-Florham fell to 2-3 on the year with its third consecutive defeat. It was the first meeting between the two schools since a 20-5 MSU victory here back on April 28, 2003.
Freshman
JENNIFER TANIS led Montclair State with three goals and an assist, including the game-winning goal just 3:20 into the contest. Senior
ERIN BALINT and sophomores
NICOLE LAROCCA and
BRIANNA GILLIN each recorded two goals and an assist for the Red Hawks, with freshman
NICOLE ROSELLE adding two goals and sophomore
ANN DAILY registering an assist.
Freshman Erika Sensbach tallied the lone goal for the visiting Devils with just 1:02 remaining in regulation.

KRISTEN KUHMANN made four saves in playing the first half for the Red Hawks while junior
JENN BOGIN collected three stops in the second half.
Junior netminder Jenn Kessler made eight saves for FDU-Florham, which was outshot, 29-14, on the afternoon.The Red Hawks also edged the Devils in draw controls, 10-4, and in ground balls, 31-15.
MSU is now off until next Thursday, March 31, when it hosts St. Thomas Aquinas at 4:00 p.m. at Sprague Field to continue a five-game homestand. FDU-Florham visits Manhattanville College on Tuesday, March 29.
