NICOLE LAROCCA scored six goals and
SHAUNA BROCKLEBANK added four as Montclair State posted its third straight win with a 20-4 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas in NCAA Women's Lacrosse action at Sprague Field on Wednesday afternoon.
ANN DAILY had three goals and two assists for MSU, which improved to 5-2 overall this season. Kim DeLorenzo had two goals for the Spartans (1-3). Montclair State scored the first seven goals of the contest - four in the first 3:11 of the game. Daily notched her first 1:16 into the contest and
BETHANY BLAINE scored 29 seconds later for a 2-0 lead.
BRIANNA GILLIN registered a goal with 27:49 to go and LaRocca netted her first tally exactly one minute later.
LaRocca got her second just under two minutes later for a 5-0 lead and Daily put in her second at 18:19 to for a six-goal cushion. Brocklebank capped the MSU outburst with her first goal with 13:43 to go before halftime. DeLorenzo would put St. Thomas Aquinas on the board with 10:45 to play and Katelyn McDonagh scored with 2:09 before half to cut the MSU lead to 7-2. Brocklebank answered for Montclair with 45 seconds left, however, DeLorenzo scored with 20 seconds to play as Montclair State took an 8-3 lead into halftime. Nicole Zippilli had 11 saves for STAC, which was outshot in the game, 35-8. Montclair State's
KRISTEN KUHMANN had four saves in goal.
The Red Hawks return to action on Tuesday, April 5 as they host the Crusaders of Susquehanna University at Sprague Field at 7:00 pm.
