MARTY CABALAR provided 3 2/3 innings of solid relief in the first game while senior centerfielder 
ETHAN BOYD was 6-for-9 in the two games as Montclair State split an NJAC doubleheader with Richard Stockton on Saturday. MSU (9-14, 4-7 NJAC) won the opener, 9-5, before the Ospreys came back to take the nightcap, 7-6.
The Red Hawks trailed 5-4 heading into the seventh inning when it scored two runs to take the lead. Greg D'Alessandro walked with one out and 
KEVIN CUOZZI reached on an error. After a flyout, 
DANNY RODRIGUEZ singled to load the bases. Boyd then stepped up and line a two-run single to put MSU in front for good.
MSU added two more in the eighth as 
TOMMY WARTH scored on an error and 
MICHAEL NUNES delivered and RBI single. Warth accounted for the final Red Hawk run with a run-scoring single in the ninth.
Cabalar picked up his first win as he got the final 11 outs allowing just three hits.
Warth finished 4-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI while Rodriguez and Boyd each hade three hits.
In the second game, Montclair led 6-3 in the seventh before Richard Stockton tied the game with three runs in the inning. Travis LaFerriere and Pat Goodwin singled to open the inning and both came around to score as Chris Crescenzi doubled, cutting the lead to one. Ross Karrer then lofted a sacrifice fly scoring Crescenzi with the tying run.
Richard Stockton then snapped the tie in the eighth as John Orlando singled, and advanced to second on an error. After another error moved Orlando to third, LaFerrierd singled bringing in the go-ahead run.
ALEX THOMPSON took the loss after going 1 2/3 innings allowing a run on two hits.
Boyd was 3-for-4 while Rodriguez and 
BRIAN BUTLER (1 RBI) each had two hits for MSU, which scored four runs in the top of the first inning.
The Red Hawks continue their road trip on Tuesday, April 19 as they head to Troy, NY for a doubleheader with Rensselaer beginning at Noon. Montclair posted a 10-6 win over RPI at Yogi Berra Stadium on April 6.
