Montclair, NJ (09/10/05) – The Montclair State volleyball team closed out action at the Buttermaker Tournament on Saturday afternoon with a pair of losses. The Red Hawks (1-3) fell to Albright in Silver Bracket semifinals, 3-0 and lost to Misericorida in four games, 3-1.
Junior
HEATHER ACIZ recorded eight kills and 10 digs for Montclair State which fell to Albright, 30-18, 30-20, 30-22.
SAMANTHA KARPINSKI and
ZAIRY RAMOS each had four kills with Ramos adding eight digs.
MELISSA CIACCIO had 15 assists and five digs.
Karpinski had 12 kills, two service aces and six assists in the loss to Misericordia (30-32, 30-24, 22-30, 18-30). Ramos chipped in with 10 kills and 10 digs while Aciz led the way with 14 kills and 15 digs.
JULIANA FERDINAND had 11 kills and nine digs. Ciaccio had 38 assists giving her 53 in the two games.
Montclair State returns to Panzer Gymnasium for its home and New Jersey Athletic Conference opener. The Red Hawks will host Rutgers-Camden at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 13.
