Montclair, NJ ( 9/14/05) – Junior forward ILYAS TASCI scored twice and sophomore MATT BEHEN recorded three assists as Montclair State routed John Jay College , 7-0, in NCAA Division III Men's Soccer action at MSU Soccer Park on Wednesday afternoon.

The game was stopped with just over 10 minutes remaining due to lightning and rain.

OWEN AMSTER and BRIAN MILES each registered two assists as the Red Hawks scored five-plus goals in a game for the third time this season. Michael Podbielski made 12 saves for the Bloodhounds (0-7), who were outshot in the game, 37-4.

BILL ANTHES put Montclair State on the board four minutes into the game as he notched his fourth of the season off a Miles' assist. RAY CICCONE extended the lead to 2-0 at the 9:10 mark with his second marker of the season and freshman DION PRIVETT's third tally of the year gave the Red Hawks a 3-0 lead at halftime.

JEFF ROWE converted a perfect corner kick pass from Amster two minutes into the second half for a four-goal Red Hawk advantage and Tasci netted his two goals 95 seconds apart as Montclair led, 6-0 with just over 35 minutes to play. SEAN HORAN completed the MSU scoring barrage at 60:34 with his first goal of the season.

Senior goalkeeper CHRIS OWEN made a pair of saves as he recorded his third shutout of the season an 20th of his career, leaving him one shy of the all-time MSU mark set by Alex Luna (1998-2001).

The Red Hawks return to action on Saturday, September 17 as they open NJAC play at The College of New Jersey. Kickoff in Ewing , NJ is set for 1:00 pm. John Jay will host New York City Tech on the same day at 4:30 pm .
