Ewing, NJ (9/17/05) –The College of New Jersey men's soccer team opened New Jersey Athletic Conference play in exciting fashion scoring a pair of goals in the final seven minutes to pull out a 2-1 victory over visiting Montclair State on Saturday, September 17.
The win keeps the Lions unbeaten on the season as they move to 5-0-1 and 1-0 in conference play, while the Red hawks slipped to 5-2 overall and 0-1 in the NJAC.
Tim Dudek gave TCNJ some life with 6:44 remaining as he settled a pass from Matt Connor and put a low shot into the near side of the net knotting the game at 1-1. The goal was Dudek's team-leading sixth of the season.
Just over two minutes later, Joseph McGinley slipped a perfect pass to Matt Luber, who raced toward the Montclair goal on a partial breakaway. The Lion sophomore didn't waste the chance with a low shot that found the back of the net for a 2-1 advantage. That goal came with 4:17 remaining in regulation.
Montclair netted the lone goal in the opening half as
BILL ANTHES notched his fifth of the season on a nice set up from
RAY CICCONE.
Matt Kasperavicius finished with two saves for TCNJ, while for the
CHRIS OWEN finished with five for the Red Hawks.
