Montclair, NJ (9/21/05) – Montclair State junior forward
RYAN MORGAN (right) and William Paterson junior Jay Hooper each scored a goal, and WPU goalkeeper Kevin Nuss made a huge save on a penalty kick in overtime as the Red Hawks and Pioneers played to a 1-1 tie in NJAC Men's Soccer action at Sprague Field on Wednesday evening.
Nuss finished with three saves for the Pioneers (6-1-2, 1-0-1), who trailed 1-0 in the contest before Hooper notched his third goal of the season off an assist from Ryan Hughes with 21:30 to play in the game.
The game headed into overtime with each team getting a shot on goal before Montclair State (5-2-1, 0-1-1 NJAC) got the opportunity to win the game as it was awarded a penalty kick at the 8:48 mark of the first OT period. The Red Hawks'
MIKE HOGAN stepped to the line and fired a shot that Nuss stopped, keeping the game deadlocked.
Montclair State took a 1-0 lead as Morgan scored his seventh goal of the season at the 27:43 mark. Freshman

CHRIS OWEN finished with four saves for MSU, which was outshot in the game, 15-11, including 10-4 in the first half.
Montclair State returns to action on Saturday, September 24 as they host NJAC rival Kean University at MSU Soccer Park beginning at 1:00 pm.
