KRISTEN SWARTZ (Hatboro, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) recorded her second career hat trick while junior forward
JENNIFER TANIS (Oak Ridge, NJ/Jefferson) tied the single-season mark for goals, collecting two and two assists as Montclair State, ranked 14 th in Division III, knocked off Richard Stockton College, 7-0 in New Jersey Athletic Conference field hockey action at Sprague Field on Wednesday evening.

JEN SOSS ( Hamilton , NJ /Steinert) and junior
SHANNON GILL ( Branchville , NJ / High Point ) each added goals for the Red Hawks, who won their third straight, and improved to 12-3 on the season while finishing their conference slate at 4-2. MSU also defeated the Ospreys for the third time in four all-time meetings.
Senior goalkeeper Caitlin Nolan ( Riverside , NJ /Holy Cross) had 11 saves for Richard Stockton, which fell to 7-9 on the year, 2-3 in the NJAC with their fourth straight loss.
Tanis, the NJAC's leading scorer, put the Red Hawks on the board 11:28 into the game with her 18 th goal of the season. Soss put through a ball 25 yards out on to the stick of Tanis , who then dribbled 20 more yards before making a move past Nolan and firing in a shot from five yards on the right side. Swartz would extend the lead to 2-0 just over three minutes later as she took a short feed from Tanis and flipped a shot in front for her 10 th of the year.
Soss made it a three-goal advantage at 19:19 as she poked in a rebound for her seventh goal and Swartz capped the first half scoring at 21:08 with her second off another Tanis assist as Montclair State took a 4-0 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Gill notched the first goal of her career, converting a penalty stroke at 44:59. Tanis then registered her second of the game at 53:03 with a wrap-around shot on the left side. The goal was the 19 th of the season for the junior, who tied Laura Popes' 2001 mark and she now has 51 points this season, just two shy of Megan Ulicny's 2003 single-season record. Tanis , who already owns the all-time career scoring mark, has 38 career goals, two less than Anna Wimberg's record set from 1974-77.
Swartz completed the MSU scoring, recording the hat trick at 58:46 one-timing a pass from
JACKIE BERRY ( Tuckerton , NJ /Pinelands Regional) .

JACQUIE SUPKO (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) made seven saves in the first 58 minutes before giving way to
JACKIE DERICCO (Belmar, NJ/St. Rose), who had one stop in the final 12 minutes.
Montclair State returns to action on Saturday, October 28 as they travel to Wilkes-Barre , PA to face Wilkes University at 1:00 pm. Richard Stockton is back home in Pomona at the same time taking on University of Scranton.
