HEATHER ACIZ (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) collected 25 kills and 44 digs in two matches as Montclair State swept a pair of matches at the William Paterson Quad match on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Hawks (8-15) ran their winning streak to three as they knocked off Wilkes in four sets and swept King's (PA).
MSU defeated Wilkes for the second time this season as they lost the first game 30-19 before reeling off three straight victories, 30-25, 30-27 and 30-24.
Aciz had 14 kills and 21 digs while Kara Burham (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) added 10 kills. Karen Matin (Sicklerville, NJ/Washington Township) had eight kills and 21 digs with
ANNA CHESNAKOVA (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) recording eight kills and three block solos. Setter
RAISA SILVA (Newark, NJ/East Side) had 44 assists, four aces and 11 digs.
Libero Megan Stevens (Woodcliffe Lake, NJPascack Hills) finished with 21 digs and a pair of service aces.
Against King's, Montclair posted its first win against the Lady Monarchs in four tries. The Red Hawks won straight sets, 30-24, 30-23 and 30-28.
Burham had 13 kills to lead Montclair State while Aciz had 23 digs and 11 kills. The 11 kills raised her career total to 978 as she is now just 22 shy of becoming only the second player in school history to record 1,000 kills in a career.
Chesnakova had 10 kills while Sam Karpinksi (Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) had eight kills and five blocks in the game. Silva registered 42 assists and 23 digs for MSU.
CHRISTINE TOSKOVICH (Garfield, NJ/Garfield) had seven service aces.
The Red Hawks return to action on Tuesday, October 10 as they visit the Bradley Center in Mahwah to take on Ramapo College at 7:00 pm.
