Elizabethtown, PA (11/11/06) – Close games were the order of the day in the first round of the NCAA Division III tournament at Elizabethtown College Saturday afternoon and evening. In the first game of the day, Montclair State (13-6-3) edged Nazareth College (9-7-3) 1-0, and in the second game of the evening, Elizabethtown College (13-4-3) scraped past Richard Stockton College (15-5-3) in overtime 3-2.
Montclair State and Elizabethtown advance to face one another in the second round Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Elizabethtown's Ira R. Herr Field. The Red Hawks are making their second appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament and also reached the second round in 2004.
The lone goal in the first game came when Montclair State's
NATALIA SISTI (Lincoln Park, NJ/DePaul Catholic) scored off a
LARA KAMINSKI (Rahway, NJ/Union Catholic) assist 55:25 into the game. The goal was the 17th of the season for Sisti, the NJAC Rookie of the Year.
Nazareth actually held an 18-10 advantage in shots over the course of the game, and each team had just one corner kick.

KRISTIN KUHMANN (Beachwood, NJ/Toms River South) made seven saves in the shutout effort, her 11th of the season, while Nazareth keeper Shannon Burns (Albany, NY/Colonie) made four saves.
