Orange, CA – The Montclair State baseball team dropped their West Coast trip opener on Saturday as the Red Hawks fell to No. 4 ranked Chapman University, 7-1.
After a scoreless first four innings, the Panthers broke open the game as they scored five runs. Chapman then added single runs in the sixth and seventh innings before Montclair State finally broke through in the eighth inning.

THOMAS MEYER collected an infield single with one out and after a strikeout, pinch-hitter
CHARLES GAGLIO singled to move Meyer to second.
MATT HARTWICK was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Pinch-hitter
MICHAEL OCEJO then lined a single to bring home Meyer.
NICK RECCHIA (0-1) took the loss for Montclair, which was held to just six hits in the game.
The Red Hawks return to action on Sunday, March 12 as they face University of LaVerne at 2:30 pm.
