NICOLE LAROCCA (right) scored with nine seconds remaining to cap a four-goal, game-ending run as Montclair State rallied past Susquehanna University, 6-4, in NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse action on Monday evening.
SHAUNA BROCKLEBANK had three goals and an assist for the Red Hawks, who improved to 3-1 with the victory. Heather Linton and Chrissy Carfello had two goals apiece for the Crusaders.
Linton's second goal of the game with 18:35 gave Susquehanna a 4-2 lead and the game remained at that margin until the final five minutes.
JENNIFER TANIS scored on a free-position attempt to cut the lead to one. Just over a minute later, the Red Hawks knotted the game at 4-4 as LaRocca scored her first with 3:47 to go.
Montclair State then took the lead 10 seconds later. On the ensuing draw, Brocklebank took control and raced down the field scored her third of the game. MSU had chances to extend the lead, however Crusaders' goalkeeper Courtney Rosenberg came up with a pair of saves.
MSU then capped the comeback as LaRocca scored the final goal.
JENN BOGIN, making her first start of the season made 13 saves for Montclair State, which was outshot in the contest, 25-21. Rosenberg finished with 11 saves.
BETHANY BLAINE had six ground balls and four caused turnovers to lead Montclair State while
DINA MORRONE added five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
