Willimantic, CT (4/19/06) – Junior attacks Chris Elrod and Dave Carpenter combined for six goals and six assists and the Eastern Connecticut State University men's lacrosse team broke from a 3-2 halftime lead to post a 16-6 non-conference victory over Montclair State University Wednesday afternoon at Thomas Nevers Field.
The win is the seventh straight for Eastern (8-3) after a 1-3 start and is its 70 th at Nevers Field in 73 matches in its 11-year history. Montclair State (6-8), a winner of the last three ECAC Metro Region championships, has lost four of its last five.
Elrod scored five goals and Carpenter had a goal and six assists. Four of Elrod's goals and five of Carpenter's assist and his goal came in the second half, when the Warriors broke from a 3-2 halftime lead by outscoring the Red Hawks 13-4.
Sophomore midfielder Pete Hamilton added a career-high four goals and tied his career high with four points, while sophomore attack Tyler Prescott tied his season-high of three assists for the third straight match. He also scored one goal.
Sophomore midfielder Mike Annunziato helped the Warriors win 15 of 23 faceoffs by taking 12 of 14. Sophomore defenseman Jon Snedeker , the Eastern lead in ground balls, collected a career-high eight, with Annunziato and freshman defenseman Steve Lane picking up five each.

BRYAN KLIMCHAK and freshman A.J. Bachman, who had combined for 74 goals in the team's first 13 matches, were limited to three goals on 11 shots.
DAVE ARMSTRONG collected three assists to give him 46 for the season.
The Red Hawks close out their regular season on Friday, April 21 as they host the Dolphins of Mount Saint Vincent College at Sprague Field. Face off is scheduled for 4:00 pm and the Red Hawks will honor their senior class prior to the start of the game.
