BRIANNA GILLIN scored four times and assisted on three others as Montclair State won its third straight with a 14-9 win at Goucher College on Thursday afternoon.
BETHANY BLAINE had three goals for the Red Hawks (6-3), who handed Goucher its first home loss in nearly a year - a span of six games.
Goucher jumped out to a 2-0 lead just under four minutes into the contest as Emily Blatter and Sandy Okun scored. Montclair State then scored the next five goals, the first by Gillin with 23:33 remaining.
ANN DAILY then collected back-to-back goals to put the Red Hawks in front and Gillin collected her second with 14:38 to play. Blaine capped the scoring at 12:57.
Unassisted goals by Katie Deming and Marlo Tersigni allowed Goucher to close to within 5-4, but again the Red Hawks went on a 5-0 run that spilled over into the second half and provided them with a 10-4 lead.
Gillin scored the first two goals 13 seconds apart inside two minutes. Blaine added her second with 51 seconds to go before half as MSU took an 8-4 lead into the break.
NICOLE ROSELLE then scored two goals in the first 97 seconds as MSU led by six.
Daily and Roselle each had two goals for the Red Hawks, who were outshot in the game, 46-31.
Goalkeeper Kristin Kuhmann was solid in goal for MSU as she stopped 19 shots. Goucher goalkeeper Laura Webbert made 12 saves.
The Red Hawks return to action on Saturday, April 8 as they host Farmingdale State in a Knickerbocker Conference contest at 1:00 pm.
