Women's Lacrosse Sails Past Farmingdale State

Montclair, NJ (4/8/06) – Junior attack SHAUNA BROCKLEBANK scored a career-high 10 points on six goals and four assists as Montclair State won its fourth straight with a 19-1 win over Farmingdale State in Skyline Conference play at Sprague Field on a rainy Saturday afternoon.

ANN DAILY and MARYKATE DIBENEDETTO each added three goals for the Red Hawks (7-3), who improved 3-0 in the league. Jenn Ryan scored the lone goal for the Rams, who fell to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in the Skyline.

Montclair State scored three times in the first 90 seconds of the game as Daily scored 14 seconds in and Brocklebank and JENNIFER TANIS scored 12 seconds apart with 28:38 remaining. Brocklebank would have a hand in five of the next six goals as she scored with 27:21 to play and after a goal by BRIANNA GILLIN she tallied two more as the Red Hawks led 9-0 with 16:09 left before halftime.

Brocklebank would score once more before the half and Daily notched the hat trick as MSU led 14-0 at the break.

In the second half, Brocklebank would complete her career day as she assisted on the first three MSU scores of the half. DiBenedetto collected her final goal early in the period and LAUREN SCARPA, JOCELYN RITTER, KATY MAYER and BETHANY BLAINE each added a goal as Montclair State held a tremendous 45-4 advantage in shots.

Ryan would get the Rams on the board with 2:49 to play as she scored off an assist from Gina Shore.

Both Kristin Kuhmann and JENN BOGIN each had a save for Montclair while Farmingdale goalkeeper Janine Forman made 18 saves.

Brocklebank added seven ground balls, five draws and two caused turnovers for Montclair State while Blaine registered five ground balls, four draw controls and three caused turnovers.

The Red Hawks travel to Purchase, NY on Tuesday, April 11 to take on Manhattanville in a Skyline Conference contest at 7:00 pm. Farmingdale will be at Mount Saint Vincent on Monday, April 10 at 4:30 pm.
