Scranton, PA (9/16/06) – The Montclair State volleyball team finished in sixth place in the Scranton Tournament as the Red Hawks dropped a pair of matches on Saturday. MSU fell in five sets to St. Lawrence and the lost a three-set match to McDaniel in the fifth-place match.
HEATHER ACIZ (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) had 23 kills and 23 digs in the loss to St. Lawrence.
ANNA CHESNAKOVA (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) had nine kills while
KAREN MARTIN (Sicklerville, NJ/Washington Township) and
SAMANTHA KARPINSKI (Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) each collected seven kills.
RAISA SILVA (Newark, NJ/Newark East Side) had 47 assists in the five games while
SARA SIRAG (Dover, NJ/Randolph) had five kills and 20 digs.
Aciz had nine kills and eight digs in the loss to McDaniel. Silva finished with 22 assists and nine digs while
KARA BURNHAM (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) had five kills.
Montclair returns to action on Tuesday, September 19 as they host the defending NJAC champion New Jersey City University at Panzer Gymnasium. First serve of the conference contest is slated for 7:00 pm.
