AYTAC MALTA (Lake Hiawatha, NJ / Parsippany) scored both goals late in the second half as Montclair State blanked Ramapo College, 2-0 in the Red Hawks final NJAC contest on Wednesday afternoon.
The victory helped MSU (15-2-1, 7-2 NJAC) clinch the No. 2 seed and first-round bye in the NJAC Tournament, which begins on Saturday, October 27 with first-round action. MSU, the defending conference champion, will host a yet to be determined opponent on in the semifinals on Wednesday, October 31 at Sprague Field.
The Roadrunners and Red Hawks played almost an entire game before Montclair State capitalized on two consecutive shots by rookie Malta, who had re-ntered the game with just over eight minutes remaining. The first of his two goals came at 87:19, unassisted, while the second was off a cross from
JOHN ESPOSITO (Hillside, NJ / Hillside) at 89:24, which came two minutes after Ramapo's Ken Hussey hit the post. The goals were Malta's fourth and fifth of the season.

NICK MELE (Delran, NJ / Delran) blocked three shots while Ian Tighe (Wyckoff, NJ) stopped seven in the full 90 minutes.
The Red Hawks out shot Ramapo, 21-8 in the victory.
