Women's Soccer Clipped in Overtime by Rowan

Montclair, NJ (9/15/07) – Junior midfielder Emilee Wilson ( Roxbury, NJ / Roxbury) scored 31 seconds into overtime as Rowan University edged Montclair State, 2-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference opener for both teams at MSU Soccer Park on Saturday.

Michelle Carrocino ( Mickleton, NJ/Kingsway) tallied her eighth goal of the season as the Profs improved to 5-1 on the season, 1-0 in the NJAC.

Freshman Chrystin Scillieri ( Wayne, NJ / Wayne Valley) scored her second goal in as many games for the Red Hawks, who fell to 1-4 overall this season with their second straight defeated. MSU is 0-1 in NJAC play.

Carrocino put the Profs on top 1-0 in the 26 th minute, an unassisted tally as Rowan led 1-0 at halftime. Scilleri, who scored her first career goal against Stevens on Wednesday, made it two straight games as she played the ball into the box and made her way through several defenders before sliding a shot past Volkomer, knotting the game at 1-1.

Heading into overtime, Carrocino collected a ball and flipped a pass to Dana Ross ( Delran, NJ / Delran). Ross then one-touched a pass onto the foot of Wilson, who drove a shot inside the right post for the game-winning tally.

Sarah Volkomer (Glen Rock, NJ / Glen Rock) made six saves for Rowan while Montclair State's LEAH TEPPERMAN ( North Andover, MA / North Andover) stopped six shots for the Red Hawks.

Both teams return to action on Wednesday, September 19 in conference action. Montclair State travels to local rival William Paterson for a 7:00 pm contest in Wayne, NJ. Rowan returns home to Glassboro for a match with Rutgers-Camden on the same night at the same time.
