St. David's, PA (10/6/08) – The Montclair State women's soccer team suffered its fifth one-goal loss of the season as the Red Hawks were clipped by Eastern University on Monday afternoon 2-1.
Freshman
RACHEL SENYSZYN (Succasunna, NJ / Roxbury) scored her seventh goal of the year as MSU fell to 7-6 this seaon.
MSU fell behind 10 minutes into the contest as Ashley Hackman scored on an unassisted tally at the 9:46 mark as the Eagles held the 1-0 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Red Hawks would not the contest less than four minutes in. Senyszyn scored unassisted.
But Eastern would come up with the game-winning tally with 24:45 remaining. Hackman fed Jill DiRenzo for the goal as the Eagles posted their second straight one-goal victory over Montclair. Last year, Eastern notched a 1-0 overtime win at MSU Soccer Park.
LEAH TEPPERMAN (North Andover, MA / North Andover) made six saves for the Red Hawks, who were outshot in the contest, 13-3.
Montclair State is now off until Wednesday, October 15 when they return to NJAC play in Mahwah against Ramapo College (3:30 pm).
