MICHAEL NUNES (4-for-4). Kloepping drilled a two-run homer in the third before the Red Hawks added three in the fourth inning for a 7-0 lead. Politan collected two with a triple and
JEFF MILLER had an RBI single.
MSU blew the game open in the fifth with seven runs. Himmelfarb score on a balk for the first run with Medina clearing the bases with a triple for an 11-0 advantage. Rob Clark singled in two more and Himmelfarb registered an RBI on an infield single.
The Golden Eagles (2-6) broke through with five runs in the eighth.
JERRY CASALE singled through the left side in the bottom of the inning driving in the final two Red Hawk runs.
Vitale (1-1) got the win allowing just the one hit with one strikeout and one walk.
Montclair State returns home and will play its first game at Yogi Berra Stadium on Friday, March 21 against SUNY-Cortland.
