Women's Soccer Falls to Rowan in NJAC Opener

Glassboro, NJ (9/20/08) – Junior goalkeeper LEAH TEPPERMAN (North Andover, MA / North Andover) stopped four shots, but Rowan University came up with a goal in the 55th minute that proved to be the game-winning goal as the Profs knocked off the Red Hawks 1-0 in the NJAC opener for both teams on Saturday evening.

Rowan remains undefeated with a 6-0 overall record and a 1-0 NJAC mark.  Montclair State is   3-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference.  Forward Michelle Carrocino (so. Mickleton, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) scored the game-winner at 54:21 in the second half.  Forward Jess Babice (so. Groveville, NJ/Steinert) picked up the assist.

The Profs out shot the Red Hawks, 8-4.  Rowan goalkeeper Sarah Volkomer (jr. Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) made one save for her second shutout of the season.

Montclair State returns to action on Wednesday, September 24 as they host the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers-Newark on Sprague FIeld at 7:00 pm.
