Montclair, N.J. (February 28, 2009) –
PATRICK FERRY scored with exactly two minutes left in the fourth quarter as Montclair State overcame a 6-4 deficit with 7:45 to go to knock off Hartwick 7-6.
The two sides traded the first four goals, with Hartwick's Ian Skudin scoring with 20 seconds in the second to level the game at two entering halftime.
TYLER MEIXNER and Marion Passafiume opened the third with goals 2:11 apart, putting MSU in front 4-2 heading into the final frame.
Hartwick tallied the next four goals, with the first three coming with the first five minutes of the stanza. A man-up goal by Tom Srubinski put the guests up 6-4 with 7:45 remaining.
TYLER METH of the Red Hawks scored the next two goals, the second coming with 3:46 left in the frame. Ferry capped off the comeback with an unassisted tally and the Red Hawks clamped down to prevent another Hawks goal.
Ryan Kloss had two assists for Hartwick, who received a pair of goals from Srubinski and Alex Giovinazzo. Meth led Montclair with three goal and an assists, as Ferry,
DUSTIN MALASZUK, and
ANTHONY DZIENKIEWICZ each forced three turnovers.
