MARYKATE DIBENEDETTO (Cinnaminson, NJ / Cinnaminson) had four goals as MSU dropped to 2-7 on the season, 1-1 in the Skyline Conference.
Since joining the Skyline Conference in 2006, MSU has won every game against its conference foes, which included three consecutive tournament championships as well. The Red Hawks were 24-0 overall, 18 in regular-season play.
Farmingdale State senior captain and midfielder Theresa Rokee (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) opened the game with a free position goal just six minutes in for a 1-0 lead. Montclair responded with four straight goals to come from behind and take a 4-1 advantage. Sophomore midfielder Justine Rothar (Levittown, N.Y./Division Ave.) ended the streak, scoring her first of six goals with 11 minutes left in the first half.Montclair added one more to lead 5-2 and Farmingdale scored three goals to tie the game at 5-5. The Red Hawks netted a goal with 22 seconds remaining to hold a 6-5 lead at halftime.
The Rams opened the second half shutting out Montclair State for the first 17 minutes while scoring six goals to take the lead, 11-6. The Red Hawks made a run with three goals in three minutes to cut the lead to two. DiBenedetto had two of the three, including her fourth with 9:23 left.
Rothar added a goal to give the Rams a three-goal cushion and would score two more to secure the victory and defeat Montclair State for the first time in program history. Rothar finished with six goals and one assist to lead Farmingdale.
Freshman goaltender Courtney Cook (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) made 18 saves for the win. Rokee finished with three goals.

The Red Hawks return to action on Wednesday, April 8 as MSU hosts Skyline newcomer Polytechnic at Sprague Field beginning at 5:00 pm.
