SAMANTHA KARPINSKI (Hackensack, NJ / Hackensack) collected four kills and 10 digs in two matches while senior
MEGHAN STEVENS (Woodcliffe Lake, NJ / Pascack Hills) added 32 digs from her libero position however Montclair State dropped its two opening matches at the Red Dragon Classic on Friday.
The Red Hawks lost to Clarkson (25-21, 25-14, 25-18) and Lebanon Valley (25-15, 25-12, 25-9) in three sets apiece.
Against Clarkson, Karpinksi led with four kills and also added six digs.
ADRIANNE MOE (Rutherford, NJ / Rutherford),
KARA BURNHAM (Moorestown, NJ / Moorestown) and
ANNA CHESNAKOVA (East Brunswick, NJ / East Brunswick) each had two kills. Stevens collected 19 digs with freshman
JENNA TOTARO (Secaucus, NJ / Secaucus) posting 11 assists.
Freshman
ALYSSA BATISTE (Manahawkin, NJ / Southern Regional) had five kills in the loss to Lebanon Valley. Stevens added 13 digs and a pair of service aces while sophomore
MICHELLE DEL VALLE (Teaneck, NJ / Memorial) had six assists. Chesnakova nad junior Julianne Vahalla (Bloomfield, NJ / Bloomfield) each had two kills apiece.
MSU will continue play in the Red Dragon Classic on Saturday at 12:00 pm as they face Baptist Bible. A win would put MSU into a 4:00 pm match against Rochester or Potsdam while a loss would make for a 2:00 pm contest with either of the aforementioned teams.
