TYLER METH (Basking Ridge, NJ / Ridge) netted the game-winner just over two minutes later as 19th-ranked Montclair State won its sixth straight, slipping past Marywood University, 8-7 on Wednesday evening.
Meth finished with three goals as the Red Hawks improved to 7-3 on the season. MSU entered the game No. 19 in the latest USILA Division III poll moving up one spot from a week ago. That ranking marked the first time that the Red Hawks had earned a national ranking.
Montclair fell behind 4-1 after the first period as Marywood scored twice in the first seven minutes before Meth finally put the Red Hawks on the board scoring an unassisted tally with 5:49 left. But Marywood added two more scores, the final coming with 30 seconds to go as MSU found itself down by three after the first quarter.
The deficit widened in the second as Nicholas Parks collected his third goal of the game for the only scoring as Marywood led 5-1 at the break.
In the second half, Montclair would close the gap to 5-3 at the halfway point of the period.

ROBERT SINICOLA's (North Caldwell, NJ / West Essex) man-up marker as Montclair pulled within two with 7:40 left. Marywood answered with a goal a minute later, but
PATRICK NANN (Livingston, NJ / Livingston) and Meth each scored as the Red Hawks closed to within 6-5 after three quarters.
RYAN KLOSS (Flemington, NJ / Hillsborough) would tie the game with 10:41 remaining in the fourth but Marywood tetook the lead 71 seconds later as George Downey IV scored for a 7-6 lead. Ring would get the equalizer with 7:24 to go setting the stage for Meth, who put Montclair in front for good with a man-up goal with 5:08 left.
Bonner finished with three assists and eight ground balls for the Red Hawks, who outshot Marywood 46-24. Goalkeeper
ANDREW ROSADO (Elmwood Park, NJ / St. Joseph's (Montvale)) made 10 saves.
MARC GUIDO (North Caldwell, NJ / West Essex) was 10-of-19 on faceoffs with four ground balls while
ANTHONY DZIENKIEWICZ (Jackson, NJ / Jackson) added fiv e ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Montclair State returns to action on Saturday, April 10 as the Red Hawks open up Skyline Conference play. Defending champion MSU visits Bard College for a 2:00 pm matchup.
