Montclair, NJ – Junior righthander Darren Lauer (New Hope, PA / Council Rock North) scattered seven hits in a complete-game effort as Keystone College shut out Montclair State 15-0 at Yogi Berra Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Sophomore catcher Cody Darley (Port St. Lucie, FL / Treasure Coast) went 5-for-5 with four RBI while junior designated hitter Dan Denton (Newtown, PA / Council Rock North) went 4-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in as the Giants evened their record at 10-10.

Keith Murphy (Point Pleasant, NJ, Point Pleasant Boro) had two hits for the Red Hawks, who fell to 8-12.
Lauer improved to 2-1 on the season as he struck out four and walked one. Freshman righthander
Nick Listro (Swedesboro, NJ, Kingsway) took the loss for MSU. Listro (0-1) allowed four hits in the first three innings, striking out two.
Kevin Catherina (Ridgefield, NJ / St. Mary (Rutherford)) put the Giants on the board in the third inning with a sacrifice fly before Keystone added five runs in the fourth for a 6-0 lead. Darley brought home the first run and Domenick Montanaro (Egg Harbor Township, NJ / Egg Harbor Township) added two more with a single before Catherina and Denton collected back-to-back RBI doubles.
Montclair State had an opportunity to get back into the back in the bottom of the inning.
Matt Long (Washingtin Township, NJ, Washington Township) led off with a single and went to second on an error. A base hit by
Philip Scott (Paulsboro, NJ, Paulsboro) put runners at the corners however Long was erased at home on a comebacker to Lauer for the first out.
Christopher Reynolds (Randolph, NJ, Randolph) drew a walk to loaded the bases but Lauer would get out of the inning unscathed with a fly ball and ground out.
The Giants exploded for eight runs in the fifth as it sent 13 batters to the plate. Darley had a two-run single and Ricky Riscica (Greenwich, CT / Greenwich) doubled in a pair of runs as did Chris Bzozowski (Westampton, NJ / Bishop Eustace) with Guerrero, who had two hits in the inning doubled in the final run making the score 14-0.
Darley drove in the final run with an RBI single in the seventh.
Montanaro, Riscica and Rick McLaughlin (Hamilton, NJ / Steinert) each had two hits for Keystone which collected 21 in the contest.
Montclair State returns to action on Thursday, April 10 with a 3:30 pm NJAC contest at home against Ramapo College.
