Jake Seaman (Montclair, NJ, Montclair) added a goal late as Montclair State captured its New Jersey Athletic Conference opener with a 2-0 victory over New Jersey City at MSU Soccer Park on Wednesday evening.

Kyle Goodwin (South Brunswick, NJ, South Brunswick) each picked up an assist as the Red Hawks (5-3, 1-0 NJAC) registered their fourth shutout of the season. Montclair also picked up its fifth consecutive win over NJCU (1-6-3, 0-1 NJAC) improving to 48-10-3 all-time against the Gothic Knights.
Junior goalkeeper Tyler Krychkowski (North Arlington, NJ / North Arlington) made 10 saves for NJCU, which dropped its fourth straight contest.
The Red Hawks outshot New Jersey City 25-12 in the contest, including 9-5 in the first half yet Montclair would only find the back of the net once. Krychkowski made a save on an shot by
Damian Bziukiewicz (East Rutherford, NJ, Becton Regional) in the first 30 seconds however he was unable to stop Wurzburger's shot at the 5:56 mark. Krychkowski added two more saves in the first half as Montclair took the one-goal lead into the break.
In the second half, Montclair State continued to put shots on net however the attempts went either wide or were blocked by NJCU defenders in addition to being stopped by Krychkowski, who had seven of his 10 saves over the final 45 minutes.
