Montclair, NJ – Sophomore forward
Jennie Hornstra (Clifton, NJ, Clifton) scored the first and last goals for 15th-ranked Montclair State as the Red Hawks extended their winning streak to eight games with a 3-0 win over Richard Stockton at MSU Soccer Park on Saturday evening.

Melanie Greco (Bridgewater, NJ, Bridgewater-Raritan) had goal with
Kaila Fasano (Westwood, NJ, Westwood) registering a pair of assists as the Red Hawks improved to 8-1 overall, 2-0 in the NJAC with their eighth consecutive shutout victory. Montclair has posted shutouts in 27 of its last 31 contest dating back to the start of the 2013 campaign.
Senior Lauren Haynes (Williamstown, NJ / Williamstown) made six saves for the Ospreys (6-4, 2-1 NJAC), who had their six-game winning streak snapped.
Montclair State smothered the Ospreys outshooting the visitors 20-1 however it was Stockton that nearly put the first goal on the board in the first 20 minutes of the contest. Freshman forward Lindsay Thomas (Swedesboro, NJ / Kingsway) collected a ball and drove in along the left side in the before flipping a pass across the front of the goal with the ball just eluding an oncoming Lexi Stasi (Cranbury, NJ / Princeton).
From that point on it was all Montclair State which finally snapped the scoreless tie with 20 minutes remaining in the first half on Hornstra's first goal. Junior
Janae Geonnetti (Mount Laurel, NJ, Paul VI)moved in along the right side of the box before striking a cross into the center where Haynes was able to get a piece of it. However the ball came free right in front to Hornstra who easily tapped in the loose ball for her fourth goal of the season.
Montclair held that 1-0 lead through halftime before scoring twice over a nine-minute span inside the final 15 minutes of the contest.
Greco's sixth goal of the season and fifth in the last four games came at the 75:37 mark. Fasano played a pass to the right post with Greco banging in the feed past a diving Haynes for the score. Fasano also took part in the final Red Hawk goal sending a beautiful cross from the left side deep into the box with Hornstra heading in the pass for her fifth of the year.
Goalkeeper
Gina Policastro (East Brunswick, NJ, East Brunswick) collected her sixth shutout of the season and the 55th win of her career, tying the MSU record set by All-American Stephanie Romanko in 2002. The shutout was also Policastro's 36th which is second all time.
Montclair State returns to action on Wednesday, October 1 with a home NJAC matchup against local rival William Paterson University at 7:00 pm.
