Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State field hockey team had its eight-game winning streak snapped on Friday evening as the No. 5 Red Hawks fell to top-ranked and defending NCAA Division III champion The College of New Jersey, 5-0.
Montclair was limited to just two shots in the game as it fell to 11-2 on the season, 2-1 in the NJAC with the loss, their first since a 2-1 setback against New Paltz on September 9.
Jaclyn Douglass got the only goal TCNJ would need in the 10
th minute. Elizabeth Morrison added goals on each side halftime for a 3-0 with Douglass netting her second. Taylor Nesnay capped the scoring with her seventh of the year with three seconds remaining.
REBECCA BRATTOLE made 11 saves for Montclair State which was outshot in the game 15-2.
CAMILLE MAIMONE and Charisse Meyers registered defensive saves.
The Red Hawks will look to begin a new winning streak on Wednesday, October 14 as its hosts Muhlenberg College at Sprague Field beginning at 7:00 pm.
