Women's Lacrosse Drops Second Straight as Brockport's Late Run Lifts Golden Eagles, 10-9

Conlon Scores Five, Collects Seven Points for MSU

Fredonia, NY – Senior attack TIERNEY CONLON had a hand in seven of Montclair State's nine goals however College at Brockport spoiled her fine effort with the last four goals of the game in a 10-9 victory over the Red Hawks on Saturday afternoon.

Conlon posted five goals along with two assists while senior JENNA BUSSIERE added three goals for Montclair State (2-3), which suffered its second straight defeat. Makensie Schuber had five goals for Brockport (3-2).

Montclair State grabbed control in the first half building a five-goal lead. The Red Hawks tallied the first five of the contest as Bussiere scored with 24:30 remaining and Conlon getting an unassisted marker two minutes later. Conlon scored again with just under 19 minutes remaining and then set up Bussiere's second 53 seconds later making the score 4-0. Conlon added the last of the game-opening run with 16:27 to for the 5-0 advantage.

Jessica Boddery snapped the run for the Golden Eagles less than a minute later however Bussiere netted her third with 13:26 left giving MSU a 6-1 advantage. Schuber's first pulled Brockport within four but Conlon scored her fourth off a feed from KARA CRAMPTON lifting MSU to a 7-2 lead at the break.

Brockport opened the half with goals from Schuber and Boddery 1:27 apart making the score 7-4 and Nina Tassone tallied twice after an MSU goal by FRANCESCA VERRONE as the lead was cut to 8-6 with 16:58 remaining. Conlon notched her fifth goal with 11:53 left however that would be the last score for MSU in the contest.

Schuber scored two consecutive goals getting the Golden Eagles within 9-8 with 5:28 before Andre Zlinsky knotted the game at 9-9 with 4:41 to play. Schuber would get what turned out to be the game-winner with 2:45 left.

Goalkeeper ALEXANDRA TEPPER had three saves for Montclair State which got three draws from Bussiere and two apiece by KASEY MAGUIRE and Alex DiPiero.

Montclair State goes right back to action on Sunday taking on Fredonia at 1:00 pm.
