AVIANA PARAGGIO scored a pair of goals however Montclair State was shut down in the second half as the Red Hawks lost their third straight in a 12-5 loss to Fredonia on Sunday afternoon.
TIERNEY CONLON had a goal and assist for the Red Hawks, who fell to 2-4.
The Blue Devils jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first 13 minutes of the contest. Marissa Cussins scored the first two goals of the game collecting an unassisted goal 2:33 into the contest with the second coming with 25:53 on a free-position attempt. Audrey Yokopovich added the third goal six minutes later and a Cussins pass to Katie Miller led to the four-goal advantage with just over 17 minutes remaining in the half.
Montclair would cut the deficit in half as Paraggio netted the first goal off an assist from Conlon.
KASEY MAGUIRE made it 4-2 with 8:56 left scoring unassisted. Fredonia (5-1) answered 47 seconds later boosting the lead back to three however Montclair closed the half with the final three goals.
FRANCESCA VERRONE got the first with 7:27 to play and back-to-back free-position goals 38 seconds apart by Paraggio and Conlon knotted the game at 5-5.
The second half would be all Blue Devils as Cussin scored to open the period and later added another with 17:40 left for an 8-5 lead. Emily Polizzi had the next two scores and Katie Glagolev's goal extended the lead to 11-5 with 14 minutes remaining.
MEREDITH KING finished with three ground balls and two caused turnovers while
JENNA BUSSIERE collected three draws in the contest. Goalkeepers
ALEXANDRA TEPPER and Rebecca Meyers each had four saves for MSU.
Montclair State will look to get back on the winning track on Wednesday, March 25 hosting FDU-Florham at Sprague Field beginning at 3:00 pm.
