Â
The Red Hawk defense kept the Red Dragons away from the goal for a majority of the game, while MSU provided plenty of pressure on the offensive end with 22 shots compared to just six by Cortland. Brattole made just two saves, away from defending against the relentless Montclair State attack. Brattole finished with two saves, none bigger than after the Haslett goal when the Red Dragons came dangerously close to cutting the lead in half. Megan O'Brien moved in from the right side against Brattole, who made a kick save of the attempt keeping the advantage at two goals and cementing the shutout.

Montclair State returns to action on Sunday, September 20 when it hosts Skidmore College at Sprague Field beginning at 1:00 pm.
