AMBER HASLETT smacked in a rebound off a goalkeeper save with 14:48 remaining as 11
th-ranked Montclair State extended its winning streak to three games with a 3-2 win over fifth-ranked Skidmore College on Sunday afternoon.

ALEXA CONSTANTINE also scored as the Red Hawks upped their record to 6-1 win the victory. The game marked the first meeting between the two since October 2005, a 1-0 win by Montclair State also at home.
Jenn Hanks and Krista Lamoreaux each had a goal for the Thoroughbreds, who dropped their second consecutive contest following a three-game winning streak to open the season. Skidmore fell at New Paltz by the identical 3-2 score on Saturday.
Montclair dominated the early part of the first half and outshot Skidmore 10-2 in the first 35 minutes however the score would be tied at a goal apiece. Kramer got MSU on the 6:35 in the contest as the Red Hawks capitalized on its third penalty corner.
CHARISSE MYERS fired a shot from the left wing that Thoroughbred keeper Zoe McGuire stopped.
The rebound came out on the right to Kramer, who took one touch before firing the ball inside the right post for her first goal of the season.
McGuire kept the lead from increasing 15 minutes later with a diving stop to the near post on a shot by
MAURA JOHNSTON and Hanks made a defensive save versus
MEGAN ROELOFFS , who was denied again by McGuire a few seconds later.
Skidmore was held without a shot for the first 25 minutes until Dani DeGregory's attempt was blocked inside the circle. That led to a corner which the Thoroughbreds capitalized on as Hanks scored at 25:40 off an assist from Becca Halter knotting the game at 1-1.
The teams would evenly split the offensive attack in the second half with 10 shots apiece. McGuire stopped back-to-back attempts by Haslett and
KAILEY DALGAUER in the first 1:32 but the rebound off the second led to a penalty stroke. Constantine came off the bench and successfully converted the opportunity giving the Red Hawks a 2-1 lead.
Skidmore nearly answered that goal however
REBECCA BRATTOLE saved to two shots against Halter in the 39
th minute. McGuire added three more saves, including one shot against Johnston in the 43
rd minute as she batted away the attempt with her glove hand.
Johnston looked as though she increased the MSU to 3-1 however the goal was waved off which proved even more important as Skidmore came back the other way and got the equalizer as Lamoreaux collected her second of the year at 45:48 off a feed from Hanks.
Montclair nearly answered that goal however Skidmore got another huge defensive save from Marrisa Folts, who swept away a pass at the line. Brattole posted a save versus
Lamoreaux in the 51
st minute keeping the game tied and Montclair would take the lead six minutes later.
Off a corner,
ARIELLE GALGANO fired a shot from the top of the circle that keeper Elizabeth Coughlin made an initial save on. The rebounds came out to Haslett on the right side which was then sent back into the cage for the go-ahead goal.
Both teams got ample chances for another score but the game would come down to one final play as Skidmore was awarded a corner just as time expired. Halter made the insert and then got the ball back down low on the left side. Her game-tying attempt was kicked away by Brattole as the Red Hawks came away with the 3-2 victory.
Brattole finished with six saves for MSU while McGuire had 11 and Coughlin two.
The Red Hawks are back in action on Wednesday, September 23 hosting Vassar College at Sprague Field with game time slated for 7:00 pm.
