Hendrickson Scores Twice as MSU Posts 10th Win

Montclair, NJ – Freshman forward MATT HENDRICKSON scored a pair of goals while DAMIAN BZIUKIEWICZ added a goal and assst as No. 12/13 Montclair State rolled to its fourth straight victory blanking Brooklyn College, 8-0 at MSU Soccer Park on Monday.

BRENDAN GUZMAN collected a pair of assists as the Red Hawks (10-1) scored six times in the second half for their third straight win against the Bulldogs. MSU leads the all-time series, 4-1.

Illya Keygen made 11 saves for Brooklyn, which fell to 3-4-1 on the season.

Montclair State recorded 21 shots in the first half however the Red Hawks were unable to find the back of the next early as Keygen made nine saves in the first 45 minutes, including several spectacular stops.

Hendrickson finally broke through at the 21-minute mark with the first of his two goals finishing off a feed from Guzman for his sixth goal of the season. MSU continued its barrage of chances but got only one more score in the half as Hendrickson collected his second off a pass from Bziukiewicz with 3:10 to go before halftime.

In the second half, MSU erupted for its six goals, including three in a span of 6:56. KYLE GOODWIN got the first scored at the 51:31 mark and Bziukiewicz found KEVIN SIMEK two minutes later for a 4-0 Red Hawk lead. AARON ROSE completed the run with his fourth goal at 58:27.

KAZARI TROUGHT, ALAIN BROWN and RICKY NELSON rounded out the Red Hawks scoring.

Goalkeeper MICHAEL GONZALEZ made three saves for his second shutout of the year.

Montclair State returns to action on Wednesday, September 30 hosting local rival William Paterson in an NJAC contest beginning at 7:00 pm.
