Madison Leads No. 23/19 Women's Soccer Past William Paterson, 4-0

Red Hawks Unbeaten Streak at Nine

Wayne, NJ – Sophomore TYLER MADISON scored a pair of goals with KIMBERLY MIGNONE registering a pair of assists as No. 23/19 Montclair State upped its unbeaten streak to nine games with a 4-0 win over William Paterson on Wednesday evening.

MARTINA LANDEKA scored for the Red Hawks, who improved to 8-1-1 on the season, 2-0-1 in  the NJAC with the victory .

Madison made it a 1-0 Red Hawk edge 5:12 into the contest when senior JANAE GEONNETTI sent a cross in from the right sideline and Madison cleaned up the bouncing ball in the box.
 
Senior MARTINA LANDEKA headed in a ball from junior KIMBERLY MIGNONE for a 2-0 score in the 46th minute, and Madison collected her second goal of the night a minute later when she received a pass near the top of the box from junior MALLORI HIGBEE and struck to the right side of the frame.

A long ball from the right sideline skimmed off a William Paterson defender for an own goal in the 63rd minute.

Sophomore Angela Sandelli made six saves for the Pioneers, and freshman ERINNE FINLAYSON posted three stops for Montclair State as she recorded her fourth shutout in as many starts this season.

Montclair State is back home on Saturday, October 3 hosting No. 16 The College of New Jersey at MSU Soccer Park beginning at 6:00 pm.
