Glassboro, NJ – The Montclair State men's and women's swimming and diving teams saw their five-meet winning streak snapped on Saturday as the Red Hawks fell to Rowan University. The men lost to the Profs 178-102 while the women suffered a 145-113 setback.
Both teams are now 6-3 overall, 0-2 in the NJAC.
Senior
SYDNEY STEIN won both long distance freestyle events as she captured the 1000 in a time of 10:59.47 before coming back to take the 500 event (5:24.56).
ERIN CANNON and
COURTNEY MUNRO were 1-2 in the 100 backstroke. Cannon swam 1:03.74 with Munro clocking in at 1:04.89.
KATHERINE LACAVA was the final winner for Montclair taking first in the 200 butterfly (2:20.66).
For the men, freshman
CHARLES COBBERTT was a double-winner. Cobbertt finished first in the 200 freestyle posting a time of 1:47.00.
HUNTER ROMANOWSKI was second at 1:48.42. Cobbertt also claimed a win in the 100 freestyle registering a time of 48.63 seconds.
ANTHONY KALAFATIS swam 2:03.08 to win the 200 butterfly with
KEVIN HENNINGSEN coming in right behind at 2:04.63.
JAMES SINGEWALD swam 55.67 seconds to win the 100 backstroke.
After competing on back-to-back days, the Red Hawks are now off until Saturday, January 23 when they travel to Mahwah, NJ for an NJAC matchup with Ramapo College at 2:00 pm.
