Montclair, NJ – Freshmen RYELLE SANSONE, EMILY BEENDERS and CHRISTINE MAYORGA each collected a goal as Montclair State knocked off William Paterson, 3-1 at MSU Soccer Park on Wednesday evening.

ERIN SULLIVAN registered an assist for the Red Hawks (11-2-1, 5-1 NJAC), who won for the sixth time in their last seven outings. MSU also recorded its fifth straight victory against its local rival taking a 15-12-1 lead in the all-time series.

Sansone gave Montclair State a 1-0 lead 9:25 into the contest with her third goal in the last two games. Sullivan fed the ball down low inside the box where Sansone was able to flick past the keeper for the game's first goal.

The lead would last 37 seconds as the Pioneers (9-4-1, 2-4 NJAC), knotted the contest off a corner kick. Adrianna Oliveira served a perfect ball to the penalty kick mark where Tori Woetzel headed the pass over the head of the goalkeeper making the score 1-1

Mayorga extended the lead to 3-1 a little over 10 minutes later with her eighth of the season.

ALYSON BURNS made five saves as did Sandelli. Montclair State held a 22-7 advantage in shots and had four of the six corner kicks in the contest.
