Hoboken, NJ – The Montclair State volleyball team dropped their first two matches in the Ducks Invitational at Stevens on Friday. MSU (18-5) fell in straight sets to both Haverford and FDU-Florham.
Senior
COURTNEY MATLOCK collected 12 kills for Montclair in the loss to Haverford as the Red Hawks fell 25-21, 25-22, 25-22.
REBECCA MATASKER added six kills and two digs while
MELISSA TERPSTRA had five kills.
ASHLEY GRIFFITH totaled 29 assists along with four digs with
LILY SCANZILLO and
DANIELLE OLCESE posting 12 and 10 digs, respectively.
MADISON MAUTE chipped in with four kills.
Matlock led MSU with nine kills in the loss to FDU-Florham (14-10) as the Devils took the match 25-21, 27-25, 25-17). Matasker had eight kills with
JILLIAN WILSON and
NATALIA MAJKUT each getting six kills. Griffith had 20 assists while
KIMBERLY MATLOCK recorded 10. Scanzillo hit double figures for digs with 12.
Montclair goes back to action in the tournament on Saturday, October 14 taking on host Stevens and Springfield College at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, respectively.
